It’s Coming Together
imagined by: James Mathias
So after having completed the boys rooms, we decided to start our room, which is actually the last room of the house to get any love. We are also doing the yard at the same time, but that is still farther off—yard work = a lot of damn work.
In this post I wanted to share a few of the things we’ve purchased for our bedroom.
First up is our new TV, entertainment center and DVD player.

First we got the entertainment center, then decided we needed a new TV and DVD player, and that we’d move the 27" TV and older DVD player to the living room, giving it a needed upgrade as well.
We went on a search for a 32“ flatscreen tube TV—not a large expense, but shockingly difficult to find in stock. We ended up taking home this 32” Sharp Aquos. And here’s the great part, Amy was the one who said “let’s go bigger and badder!” I of course confirmed this in disbelief three times before getting the Best Buy guy to help me, he too was a little off center. I take it they don’t get many wives in that say let’s get the bigger TV, without having the husband beg first. Man, I tell you Amy is the best.
We then got the new DVD player that up-converts our DVD’s to “near HD quality” and a $60 HDMI cable, you know so we could have the best of the best picture and sound. And that’s how a $400 intention became a $1700 purchase
Oh and yes for you eagle eyes out there, that is a gamecube, xbox 360, playstation 2 and xbox with switcher setup.
And for those geeky eagle eyes; yes, that is the entire collection of LEGO EXO-Force robots. And that is a skull and crossbones dodge ball!
Next up our new bed, that arrived just today.

It’s decked out with Isaac Mizrahi sheets and comforter. It’s a contemporary platform bed with a 8 inch tempurpedic futon mattress. It is mad comfortable.
And I gotta rock the pink pillow cases!
Well thank you for listening to my borderline braggart post about things I own, I really appreciate it.

I’m jealous of the TV! I’d be in same “bigger and badder” camp that Amy is in…the bigger the TV the better…
Love the new bed…and the pink pillows!
You guy’s are really into the pink this month…aren’t you?

Thanks for enjoying my greed and possesion gluttony Sarah, I appreciate.
In general I think we like pink, not a “this month only” thing.

I love your TV! And dude, if my Hubby saw your Xbox and all those other goodies, he’d turn green with envy! LOL He just has a playstation 2! =P
Your bed looks great! As much as I love pink, that is one rule my Hubby has. No pink on our bed. LOL But I do have pink in my bathroom. *giggles* Love the pillows you got going on.
Awesome. Thanks for sharin’.

Thanks Ana, Yeah the time I get to play those games though is very limited and sometimes I think why do I even have them, but I love gaming so that’s probably the reason.
I don’t have any rules about our house decoration, but it helps that Amy and I have very similar tastes as far as interior design goes.

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter looks lonely. :\ Now that you’ve got a broadband connection have you given Xbox Live a shot? The entertainment center looks really nice, but the bedding, I can’t help but think that you’re missing a lava lamp on the night stand. :P

Oh David, I also got NBA 2K6 and Dead or Alive 4 for the xbox 360, the one in the shot is actually Dead or Alive.
And yes that is a lava lamp, should have turned it on for the pics, oh well. The bedding is really much better in person, the pics don’t do it justice.

Nice bed! The pink isn’t too much my wife would like it. I’m with you on the yard, our yard needs some major loving.
Grass would probably be a good start.

Yeah we need grass too, but first we must cut a path through the brush and weeds I affectionately call the “Prehistoric bitches” After that, which is about 1/2 done we can get top soil in and plant some seed, then we need a fence, and some lawn accessories.
As for the pink, I don’t care what color my bedding is cause in the end, my eyes are closed… right?

Maggi!! I’m not knocked up, I am with child or expecting or in delicate condition. “knocked up” sounds so crude and trashy.
…
Anyways, you and gregg have alot more pink than we do. We just wanted an accent color.
