Going to SXSW

imagined by: James Mathias

In 2006 I wanted to go to SXSW, I couldn’t afford it. In 2007 I wanted to go to SXSW, Cameron was only 3 months old I couldn’t leave Amy alone with a new baby.

In 2008 I’m going to SXSW.

I was asked to participate in a new program called “Core Conversations” which are a way to formalize hallway talks. I’ve been asked to lead a Core Conversation on a subject I had previously submitted as a panel idea.

The subject I proposed was “Managing your business whilst battling the bulge”.

I chose the subject based on my own success at losing weight, while maintaining a reasonably successful one man web shop. I did not expect to get my suggestion chosen as a panel, for a variety of reasons, but mostly because I still lack the confidence that my Facebook friends mistakenly think I possess.

Apparently, although not a full blown panel, the Core Conversations are an opportunity like no other to get my name and face out there in the industry in a way that is at once positive and informative.

I know that a lot of people in my industry have the same problem that I had, and continue to have.

Balancing Your Health, Life and Work.

It’s a tricky equation to figure, but with help, support and a starting point, I believe everyone can reach, maintain and surpass their personal goals for health, life and work.

I’m hoping to have a big turnout for this core conversation and I’m hoping that I can help anyone who needs it.

So there you have it. I’m going to be at SXSW this year. And I’m going to be discussing important things, so don’t miss out and if you see me, don’t forget to come up and meet me. I’m a lot nicer than I look. smile See you there.

You know the score, keep it clean and on topic. “Spammers” & “trolls” are decimated on sight.
